Godfather’s Pizza Helps Make 2014 Boys Town Booster Banquet A Success

Approximately $31,000 were collected from the silent auction, more than 1,800 attendees were present, and 179 items were auctioned off… all for 1 great cause.

Each year, Boys Town holds a Booster Banquet to celebrate the accomplishments of their student-athletes and to raise funds for their sports programs. Being involved in sports teaches valuable life lessons to the Boys Town youth and helps build each child’s confidence in a way that it has a positive effect on every aspect of their life. As a national sponsor of Boys Town, we not only had the privilege of attending the event this past Tuesday, but we were also able to help manage the silent auction portion of the banquet.

The Godfather was joined by 18 Godfather’s Pizza employees from the corporate office in helping make sure the silent auction ran as smoothly as possible. After weeks of preparation, the team arrived at the Windsor Ballroom in the Embassy Suites – La Vista to set-up the auction tables and organize all auction items. The auction items were mostly sports-themed and included such memorabilia as signed photographs, framed jerseys, and various event packages.

When the bidding process ended and event attendees headed off to their banquet tables, the Godfather’s Pizza team went to work on ensuring all bids and items were organized for efficient pick-up.

The Godfather was the emcee of the auction

This year’s special guest speaker was NFL quarterback Drew Brees. Brees would discuss the life lessons he learned from being a professional athlete and the support he had for everything that Boys Town does for the youth of the United States and beyond.

After all items were processed and claimed, the silent auction raised approximately $31,000, which happened to be a new record for this event. The boosters present at the event raised over $150,000 for Boys Town this past year. We would once again like to thank Boys Town for letting us be a part of this special event and look forward to helping out again next year!
