Pizza for #TeamCollin

We’ve always known how amazing our franchise owners are, but one in particular went above and beyond when he helped out a young boy in Minneapolis this past week.

Collin Luitjens is a 15-year-old sophomore in high school that went from being seemingly healthy to being placed on the heart transplant list in less than a week after they discovered his heart was enlarged and not functioning properly. He has been at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital since the middle of February and is still waiting for a heart transplant.

On Thursday of last week, one of Collin’s family friends tweeted at us and told us that our Cheeseburger Pizza with no onions was Collin’s all-time favorite pizza, and they asked if there was any way we could get one to him in the hospital. After getting in contact with Collin’s dad, he also informed us that our pizza has been one of the two foods that Collin has actually requested while in the hospital. We called up Roger Backstrom, who is one of our franchise owners located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and we asked him if there was any chance that he would be willing to send some pizzas over to Collin. Roger was thrilled to be able to do this and he happily sent over some Cheeseburger Pizzas with no onions to Collin and his family, and he even included some pizzas for the nursing staff there as well!

A big thank you to both Roger Backstrom for making this all possible as well as Collin’s family friend for reaching out to us and allowing us to do this for him. Best wishes to Collin in his journey!
