Since we first opened our doors in 1973, Godfather's Pizza
has strived to make an impact on our communities. Through sponsorships,
fundraisers, and many other types of activities and events we discovered our
passion to help children and families is just as strong as our passion for
pizza. Learn more about how Godfather's Pizza is making a difference in your
community.
Boys
Town: A National Partnership
Godfather's Pizza and Boys Town Team Up to
Deliver da Goods
Family
is an important word at Godfather's Pizza. For more than 30 years, we have been
committed to providing food and fun for thousands of families, but that just
didn't seem like enough. We wanted to do more. We wanted to help.
In 2004, we decided to create a very special partnership with an organization
that believes in and values families just as much as we do. As Boys Town's
first national corporate sponsor, Godfather's Pizza promised to increase
awareness for the organization's efforts by incorporating its messages into our
advertising, using our resources to develop a formal fundraising program, and
provide internship and job programs to the Boys Town youth.
We also agreed to print information
about the Boys Town's national hotline on our pizza boxes - 1-800-448-3000.
This 24-hour crisis, resource, and referral line connects troubled youth and
their families with trained counselors who can assist with suicide prevention,
depression, physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, chemical dependency,
anger, and much more. With more than 20 million pizza boxes going out our doors
each year, we believe this is a unique and effective way to reach the nation's
youth.
Making a
difference
While it may be hard to believe
that something as simple as a Godfather's Pizza box could help or even save the
life of a local youth, the truth is it has. Since the partnership began, Boys
Town has contacted us on several occasions to share how the awareness we have
helped generate made a difference in the life of a troubled youth. In some
cases, awareness of the hotline meant the difference between life and death.
Just over a year ago, we received a letter from an Omaha, Neb. mother thanking
the partnership for saving her daughter's life. Apparently, during a suicide
attempt her daughter contacted the hotline. She later told her mother that she
had gotten the number to the Boys Town hotline off of a Godfather's Pizza box.
Stories like this have dramatically changed the dynamic of our business.
Partnered with a cause like Boys Town, we truly believe every pizza we sell is
an opportunity to impact and improve the life of a child and his or her family.
Helping students
succeed

While the level of
participation varies from location to location, you will find many Godfather's
Pizza restaurants are active partners with local schools. In addition to fundraising
assistance, most Godfather's Pizza locations offer a variety of educational
programs.
Please contact your local Godfather's Pizza to see if the following programs
are available in your market.
Reward Programs: Free pizza is a great way to motivate and reward
students. We offer several different certificates like Good Student and Good
Sportsmanship, which help teachers acknowledge a student's success and
entitle the recipient to a free mini pizza.
Field Trips: A visit to a local Godfather's Pizza is a fun way for kids
of all ages to see firsthand how the skills they are learning in the classroom
are put to use in a restaurant everyday.
Reading Programs: Students always seem to enjoy guest readers,
especially when the guest is The Godfather.
He spends time reading books with pizza themes, signing autographs, and
taking photos with the students.
